An educational path through the Roman civilization to let the children “visualize” how Rome used to look like.
6 hours - walking tour / by public transportation
On the way from Rome to the beach there’s the huge Museum of the Roman Civilization: go in and you’ll see how the Romans spread their power around, from the origins to the 4th century, with models and reproductions, as well as original materials. The most famous scale model is the one representing Rome seventeen hundred years ago: it can be seen also in a few shots of the movie "Gladiator" by R. Scott.
Since you have learned about “a day in the life of a Roman”, you can move and visit the ruins of the ancient city of Ostia: apartment buildings, taverns, shops, laundries, the firemen station, private bath houses, warehouses, storages, granaries, wealthy houses, temples.
…We’ll make what we’ve learned in the museum come to life!
